With American Slang hitting the masses Tuesday, it's about time the boys in The Gaslight Anthem start giving it the press rounds. They dropped by Jimmy Fallon last night and surprisingly passed up the title-track so Brian Fallon and his extra slicked back hair could howl through "The Boxer". The song didn't click at first, but it's become an honest favorite for me...some of the best storytelling I've heard in a modern 3-minute rock song and I think a lot of us can relate to finding "our bandages inside the pen and our stitches on the radio".
