Levi's upper management need to head down to their marketing department and hand out some raises or, at least, some serious dap. The company's built on their oddly epic Pioneers, Oh Pioneers campaign, adding sessions where the likes of Raphael Saadiq, The Roots, Passion Pit, and The Shins will re-work a song that particularly inspired them coming up. The first in the series comes from the one and only God's son, as Nasir steps up to Slick Rick's "Hey Young World" and makes it his own. You can bet that 15 years down the road, there will be some young MC covering Nas, pegging him as one of the greatest of all time. I'll keep ya'll updated as more of the sessions get posted, but in the meanwhile, give the video a look and catch Nas' newest work, the Damien Marley-collab project Distant Relatives, out now.
