Video: Kings of Leon - "Radioactive"
The Followill boys head off into their native backwoods for the Deep South's answer to a NYC block party. This is the first I've heard of this new mellow and sunny KOL track...perfect combination for this time of year when the summer fades into fall. Need something to hear in your ears while you feel it in your bones.
Come Around Sundown drops October 19th.

Kanye West - "Lord, Lord, Lord" (feat. Mos Def, Swizz Beatz, Raekwon, and Charlie Wilson)

Stream: Jimmy Eat World - Invented
Jimmy Eat World might not have invented ambient pop-punk (har har har), but they definitely have the sound perfected. Here's an full figured look at their seventh LP: take a guess if it's any less than stellar? Give you a hint, it's begins with "h" and ends with "ell no".
Invented is out September 28th.

Bruno Mars - Just The Way You Are (Remix feat. Lupe Fiasco)
Bruno Mars might be crushing on more things than just the Top 40 with "Just the Way You Are"...but no denying the kid's got smooth vocals and throw Mr. Fiasco into the mix (remix, that is...) and you got an ear-catcher.

Kanye West - "Good Friday" (feat. Common, Pusha-T, Kid Cudi, Big Sean, and Charlie Wilson)M
G.O.O.D Fridays keep getting better and better. This week we get the title track of the series featuring the likes of Common, Pusha-T, and Big Sean getting their 90s on with Yeezy over a rolling piano instrumental and a sunny-as-hell Cudi hook. There are some spotlight bars here, a positive flow, and the blossoming feeling that Mr. West might not deliver a single bad cut for the foreseeable future. Got damn!

Beach Fossils - "Face It/Distance"
Beach Fossils no a little glossier on the production, but no-less hazy in a duo of new tune packed away in their 7" Face It/Distance. Although I'm starting to think their drumbeats are just recycled at this point, the shimmering riffs in "Face It" and the banjo-esque lead line in "Distance" keep it the awesome realm of sun-drenched dream-pop.
Beach Fossils is out now

Video: Wale - "The Work"
Wale lets some high-deff footage capture him doing what he does best: putting in work and repping the Commonwealth to the fullest. More About Nothing might as well have smashed the rest of my music collection, because nothing else has gotten a spin since it dropped. Guess you could say it's on it's no days off shit...

Video: Underoath - 2010 Studio Update #7
There is some serious facial hair going on in Underoath's studio..but with the dreadlocked Spencer Chamberlain penning lyrics and blasting brutal barks (alliteration ya'll) there's some serious music going on too. Disambiguation is out Nov. 9th. Pre-order here.

J. Cole - "Villematic"
J. Cole + Kanye's "Devil in a New Dress" + Nas' Illmatic reference = classic. One of the better verses I've heard from the Fayette-nam Don in awhile and I have no doubt he's got a big ball of fire cooking up in the form of a mixtape or Cole World or whatever.

Video: The Dear Hunter - "White"
A while back Casey Crescenzo revealed a rather ambitious project that would entail writing a collection of mini-EPs, each capturing the vibe of a certain color. Well, he's apparently going through with it. At a recent tour stop he pulled out this soothing ditty that'll show up on the series first installment, the White EP. I don't know what to think of this, but so long as Casey's brainpower is attached to it, it's hard to think it'll be anything short of gold. Gotta love the wordplay...

Miguel Jontel - "All I Want Is You" (Remix feat. Raekwon)
I was impressed enough when Miguel Jontel pulled J.Cole for the original version. Add The Chef a.ka. Raekwon of Wu-Tang fame to the official remix and you got even more reason to pay notice to the kid.

Kanye West - "Devil in a New Dress"
First "Monster". Now "Devil..."? Looks like Ye's been watching True Blood too. This second G.O.O.D. Friday drop apparently comes off Mr. West's upcoming new record. Ye sings the blues about the title character over a soul-infused beat that is one of the more emotional instrumentals I've heard from his camp in a minute.

Trey Songz - "The Usual" (feat. Drake)
Trey Songz croons about, well, what else...the usual. Nothing you wouldn't expect to hear from a Jason Derulo/Usher/Lloyd-type, but Trey definitely has pipes, the beat (courtesy of Drake's choice boardmaster 40)kicks, and a Drizzy spot is never a bad thing. Passion, Pain, & Pleasure is out now.

Atmosphere - "Freefallin'"
Expect a Tom Petty sample? Well, too bad. Instead listen to Slug spit some philosophical realness over a strummy instrumental for a new song that'd fit right into When Life Gives You Lemons...

Video: Crime in Stereo - "I Am Everything I Am Not"
A very fitting last video from Crime in Stereo. I was fortunate enough to see the Strong Island dudes rock out in Boston before they broke up earlier this month and you can tell this band was in it 100% for the music. That sentiment comes across really well here and makes it all the more sad that great bands like this fall victim to the music industry's woes while Justin Beiber can have five Ferraris before he has a drivers' license. Long live Crime in Stereo...

The Dangerous Summer - "Good Things"
Here's a special gift from the boys in The Dangerous Summer in the form of a brand new tune. Right in line with all the gems off Reach For the Sun...seems like they are settling in to a very specific sound, but if it's a good one, is that such a bad thing?

Vieo: Glassjaw - "You Think You're John Fucking Lennon" (live rehearsal)
Glassjaw set up some mood lighting inside what looks like a jail cell and take the opportunity to rip off a furious version of "You Think You're John Fucking Lennon". I think I could just watch their shadows flickering on the walls the entire time and be completely content...100% dope video.

Video: City and Colour - "New Song" (feat. Tegan and Sara)
If you can get through the first two minutes of awkward banter and lots of teenage girls screaming, you'll be rewarded with a haunting new tune from Dallas Green and the swoopy-haired Quinn twins. In the words of Iceland defender and D2: Mighty Ducks villain Olalf Sanderson: "Two minutes? Well worth it."

Sufjan Stevens - "I Walked"
The Suf-man makes his return by abandoning his lush orchestration for thumping electronics. Fortunately, his pristine pipes are still the same-old, same-old and angelic backing vocals give some real ambrosial credibility to Sufjan's Biblically-inspired tunes. Age of Adz is out Oct. 12.

Jimmy Eat World- "Stop"
The second drop off Invented is the pensive, introspective older brother to their spitefully throbbing "My Best Theory". The Futures vibe is a burgeoning trend on the new record so far a.k.a good things coming this way from the JEW camp.
